Island Artist William DePaula Donates Painting "Vanilla Tarpon" to IGFA International Auction and Banquet

The Island Artist William DePaula donates a framed painting he created "live" online in a blog post to the IGFA. The 28th annual IGFA International Auction & Banquet will be held in the IGFA Fishing Hall of Fame & Museum in Dania Beach, Florida, USA on January 27th, 2012 at 6 pm.  The painting, "Vanilla Tarpon" was created using a special foil technique. The painting was built up in several layers and even the frame is custom painted to match the painting. "Vanilla Tarpon" is not your usual fish in the water painting that you would see in your favorite tackle shop or seafood restaurant.  "I wanted to create a fish painting that was unusual. A fish painting that is unlike anything you have ever seen before. I wanted to give the painting the look of a classic Hawaiian shirt, rather than your traditional fish or marine life painting.", says DePaula.  "Vanilla Tarpon" shows a highly detailed jumping tarpon with a black, green and red background with two vanilla colored flowers. The blog post which details the creation of the painting can be found on the following address: http://artedepaula.wordpress.com/2011/10/17/my-fair-tarpon/
